Louise W. Henderson

Today we say farewell to Louise Mae Ella Williams Henderson, who peacefully departed this life on October 10, 2013. She was born January 2, 1933 to the deceased Mary Johnson Adamson Waugh and Lafayette Montgomery Adamson in Lexington, Virginia. She was the sixth of eight children. She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen(Murph) Morgan, Lexington, Virginia; brothers, Roy Adamson, Lexington, Virginia; Ernest Adamson; Norman Adamson; Norvin (Helen) June Adamson. She is survived by her sister Pearline (Norman) Davis, Atlanta, Georgia and Lafayette Adamson, Jacksonville, Florida. She is also survived by her beloved niece Ann (Frank) Lindsey, Vineland, New Jersey.
She was a graduate of Lylburn Downing High School and attended Bennett College and Tennessee State University. Her life was filled with providing services to many. She was a Nursery School teacher, Elementary school teacher, First Lady in several United Methodist Churches, Lexington High School Librarian, Rockbridge Area Social Services ,Social Worker and much more.
She was married to the late Dr. Rev. Dogan Wilford Williams and later to the late Marvin Willard Henderson. She was the proud mother of eight children, Donna (Richard) Williams Valentine, Jacksonville, Florida; Franklin (Keryl) Andrew Williams, Nashville, Tennessee: Marlanesa Louise Henderson Leggett, deceased, Lexington, Virginia; Jaquetta (Lorenzo) Marie Henderson Tyson, Lexington, Virginia; Penney (Steven) Darlene Williams Hilbert, Staunton, Virginia: Marvin (Lynn) Willard Henderson, Jr., Kansas City, Missouri, deceased; Tracye Lynn Henderson, Nashville Tennessee; and Ernest Eugene Henderson, Virginia Beach, Virginia. She is also survived by two daughters in laws, Linda Williams and Kay Williams, seventeen beloved grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.
She was a faithful member of Randolph Street United Methodist Church and most recently Mt Moriah United Methodist Church, Jacksonville, Florida. She was known to feed anyone who needed to be fed and to provide whatever she could to help others. Her cookouts and parties were infamous.
