Joe’s Eulogy
Joseph (Joe) Milton Nau, age 78, of Jacksonville, Florida,
has completed his journey here on earth.
After a brave and extended battle with a debilitating disease, Joe peacefully moved on to his reward at 7:40 p.m., on May 25, 2013.
Joseph was born to Frederick and Mildred Masters Nau on December 26, 1934, in Louisville, Kentucky. Joe was their only child.
Joe attended high school at St. Joseph’s Academy in Louisville, Kentucky, after which he joined the military and served in both the U. S. Army and the U. S. Air Force. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
Upon leaving the military, he tried his hand at several occupations and eventually became the chief electrician for the City of Miami, Florida. He retired in 1991, and moved to Jacksonville, where he met Arlene Lautenschlager, his loving wife of 13 years.
Joe is survived by his wife, Arlene Nau, his four children and their spouses: John Nau (wife Preciousa), Maxine Unverferth (husband Thomas), Deana Breish, Jacquelyn Francioni (husband John).
He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Christopher Nau (wife Megan), Erin Lewis (husband Joshua), Justin Unverferth, Heather Scott (husband Jonathan), Conrad Crandall, Allison and Austin Breisch, and Holly Francioni; and two great grandchildren: Madelyn Nau and Hayden Scott.
He also leaves Arlene’s two daughters: Angela Wood (husband Lance), Chanda McWhorter (husband David); five grandchildren Liam and Ethan Wood and Nikke, Nolan and Niña McWhorter.
