Laura Elizabeth Tierney Ladd

Laura Elizabeth Tierney Ladd was born March 6, 1965 in Carbondale , IL to Suzanne Madsen Bork and William C. Bork. She attended schools in Carbondale; Sharon, MA; New Britain, CT; and Atlanta, before graduating from The Bolles School in 1983.

Following her graduation she worked part-time at Tillinghast, Nelson, and Warren and attended FCCJ and University of Florida.

She married Frank Ladd in 1986.Their first son, Michael C. Ladd, was born in Jacksonville, in 1989. After relocating to Beaumont, TX, their second son, Daniel Travis Ladd, was born in 1993. The family moved to Greensboro , NC in 1995.

Following a divorce, Laura and her boys moved to Jacksonville to be closer to family. While working at American Insulators she met Kurt Brown. They had two children, Jacob and Trenton, born while she was employed at Citigroup as a customer care representative. In addition to her children, Laura is survived by her mother, Suzanne Madsen; stepfather, Michael Tierney; and stepbrother, Richard Tierney.

For the last two years, Laura enjoyed her role as a stay-at-home mom, involving her children in decorating and baking for holidays and special events. She loved seizing every opportunity for celebration and creating memorable moments for her children.This past Christmas she loaded her kids in the car with blankets and hot chocolate to show them the neighborhood light displays. One of her last facebook posts highlighted Jacob and Trenton's choice of treats left for Santa and his reindeer--broccoli slaw and pickles!
