Gabriele Felizitas Koehler Lee

July 24, 1929 — December 2, 2012

Gabriele Felizitas Koehler "Gabi" Lee, 83, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning,( December 2, 2012), at Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, due to complications of a stroke.

Born in Wurzburg, Germany in 1929, she lived in Enterprise, AL for over 40 years before moving to Jacksonville, Florida in 2007 to be closer to family. While living in Enterprise, she was an active volunteer at the Fort Rucker Dental Clinic and the American Red Cross, where she received numerous awards and commendations for her service. Her hobbies included reading, clipping coupons, and cruising. In recent years, she especially enjoyed the fellowship of her friends at the Life Center of Jacksonville, and the School of Abundant Living in Riverside, where she also took classes in Painting and Spanish. She was a member of the Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Berta Koehler, and her spouse, Robert G. Lee.

Survivors include two daughters, Angela Lee, of Birmingham, AL, Thea (Mitch) Barbato, of Charlotte, NC, one son, Dr. Robert Lee (Dr. Pauline Bellecci) of Jacksonville, FL and Blackshear, GA; four grandchildren, Stephen Sillay, of Ocean Springs, MS, Jennifer Sillay Gropp (Anthony), of Atlanta, GA, Anna and Evan Tubbs, of Birmingham, AL, and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Ursula and Raingard Koehler, and two brothers, Volker (Gundula) and Rainer (Erika), all residing in Germany.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.

A private graveside service for family will be held in Enterprise, Alabama at a later date.
