Mary Catherine Lawson

Mary Catherine Lawson passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones, on October 31, 2012. Mary was born on the 25th of January 1990. She has been battling type 1 diabetes for the past 14 years. She was so courageous during her many stays in the hospital these last two years. Her life was far too short but during that life, she touched our lives and soul. Her presence is a gift for which we will always be thankful. We will never forget our beautiful little Mary. We receive comfort in the knowledge that she is now safe and out of pain in the arms of our heavenly Father.

Mary is survived by her loving mother, Michelle Hammond; brother, Jess Lawson; sister Ashley Frye; grandparents, Bob and Mary McCarthy and Bert and Linda Shiver; her aunts and uncles: Meg McCarthy Manco (Luis), Kellie McCarthy Smith (Steve), Peter McCarthy (Melanie), Alayna Browder and Jim Cotton; cousins: Savanna, Ethan, Nick and Will and numerous great aunts and uncles, second cousins and other relatives and friends.

A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, November 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Hibernia Baptist Church, 1700 Highway 17, Fleming Island, Fl 32003, phone (904)529-8944.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to JDRF, the juvenile diabetes association.
