Linda Cheryl Ward

WARD, Linda “Cheryl” Ward, 62, lost her fight with cancer and she passed away September 27, 2012 at hospice surrounded by her family and friends in Jacksonville, Florida. Cheryl was born November 18, 1949 to Lester and Grace Ward. She was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter and son-in-law, Lesley and Rob Corley of Savannah, Georgia; grandchild, Josh Corley; brother, Gene Phillips (Penny); sister, Michelle Monroe; step mother, Mary Ward; step sisters: Cheryl, Cindy, and Connie Blanton; 7 nephews; a niece; 4 cats and many more family members and friends. The family is especially appreciative of the love and care from her lifelong friends, Judy Gore and Stephanie Davis. The family would also like to thank the Community Hospice Teal team for their extraordinary care. Cheryl was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who could bring smiles and a bit of fun with her humor, candor and laughter. A celebration of Cheryl's life will be held 3pm Friday, October 5, at Calvary Baptist Church, 4040 Dunn Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida with Pastor George Kratochvil officiating. She will be taken to her final resting place in Durham, North Carolina, at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to womenscancerresearchfund.org.
