Jim Tom Wright, born December 31, 1932, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at McGraw Hospice Center. Jim was born in Albany, Georgia where he attended school and then entered the U.S. Army in 1953. He served overseas in World War II where he met his future wife Margot Charlotte Berger. After returning to the United States from Germany, he went to work as engine builder and chief mechanic for race car driver Peter Gregg and Brumos Motor Cars. He lost his first wife and mother of his children to cancer in 1983 and remarried in 1988 to Cynthia Gibson. They retired to the Florida Keys in 2004 where they resided until recently. He was predeceased by his parents; wife Margot; daughter, Susan Chandler (Rick); and a son, Jimmy Wright. Survivors include: his loving wife, Cindy; his children, Bobby, Gisela Griffin (Tad); eight grandchildren; Jason Wright (Jimmy); Chad Wright, Macy Wright (Bobby); Charlotte Chandler, Stephanie Chandler (Susan); Patrick Griffin, Lindsay Griffin, Emily Griffin (Gisela); great grandchild, Bailey Chandler (Charlotte). A celebration of his life will be held later this Fall. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Community Hospice.
