Dorothy Isabel Williams Aden was born February 21, 1924 in Gainesville, Florida to Elizabeth Parker Williams and John Edward Williams. She graduated from Landon High School in 1942 and worked as a telephone operator for Bell telephone until she met a young sailor, Wayne Aden, at a USO dance. Dottie married Wayne in June of 1947 and took off for his home town of Chappell, Nebraska on the back of his Harley motorcycle. After their first child Betty was born, the Korean War called Wayne back into the Navy and Dottie returned to Jacksonville where she remained for the rest of her life. During the 1950’s, two more children - Sam and Simone - completed the Aden family. Dottie was a stay at home mom until she started working All Brite Sales Company where she remained for more than 20 years. She was an active member of her church and past president and "Women of the Year" of ABWA. Always a devoted wife and a wonderful loving mother, Dottie will be remembered as having a strong faith, kind heart and good sense of humor.
Besides her 3 children and their spouses (Ralph, Carolyn and Frank), Dottie is survived by 4 grandchildren, (Kurt, Krista, Kelly and Brooke), and 2 great-grandchildren, (Nicholas and Max).
Dottie passed away in her sleep on June 11, 2012. A memorial service and reception will be held at Spirit of Life Lutheran Church on July 9th at 12 noon.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations in her name be made to Spirit of Life Lutheran Church 2636 New Berlin Rd, Jacksonville, Florida 32226
