Catherine Agnes Tietjen, 85, passed away quietly on February 5, 2012. A loving wife, caring mother, beloved grandmother and great-grandmother, she was truly loved and will be missed by many. Catherine loved simple pleasures like a cabin in the mountains, camping by the Suwannee River, or painting a beautiful landscape, but mostly she loved being surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Catherine moved to New York during World War II where she met her one true love Howard and together they started a family. The family relocated to Jacksonville in 1959 where they built a home and a lifetime of loving memories.
Preceded in death by her mother Agnes, her father Thomas, and her husband Howard, Catherine is survived by her sisters Agnes and Jane; children Elaine, Virginia, Howard, and Laura; grandchildren Jeremy, Alex, Eli, Ginny, Katie, and Anne; and great-grandchildren Grace, Mason, Chason, Chelsea, Graham, Marley, and Alisha.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
