Dolores S. Azcuy

Delores Soledad Valiente Azcuy passed away peacefully on January 30, 2012. She was born on September 14, 1932 in Pinar Del Rio, Cuba. She came to America in the late 1950’s with her childhood sweetheart and husband and she helped him build a thriving practice. In the mid 1970’s they divorced and Delores went back to school while working full time for the State Mental Health Resource Center. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from Jacksonville University in August of 1979, at the age of 47. While taking care of her sons and working full time, she completed her Master’s Degree in May 1992. She will be remembered as passionate in her work and unshakable in her beliefs.

She was a proud mother of three sons: Edward, Anthony, and Alex. She is also survived by her brothers: Ronnie, Jote, Luis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at San Jose Catholic Church, 3619 Toledo Road, Jacksonville, FL 32217 (904) 733-1630. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Wolfson Children’s Hospital, 800 Prudential Dr, Jacksonville, FL 32207 (904) 202-8000.
