Mary Ellen Breed

Breed, Mary Ellen, 70, a long time resident of Clay County, originally from Huntington, WV passed away December 6, 2011 after a battle with breast cancer. She served in the U.S. Navy, was an avid Nascar fan, Seminole, Jaguar, and Steelers fan and she loved quilting. She retired from Jax Navy Federal Credit Union (Vystar) and Uncle Bob’s Self Storage.

She is survived by her children: Terry Melton, Jim (Debi) Breed, Paula (Daniel) Fields; her grandchildren: Sara Lucier, Jennifer Taylor, Courtney and Stephanie Melton, Jamie Work, Aliyah and Ethan Fields; her great grandchildren: Callista and Brooklyn Lucier, Braydon Work, Skylynn Bedford, Emily Taylor; and her only cousin, Judith Kimler.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2011 at First Christian Church of Orange Park, 2876 Moody Ave, Orange Park, FL 32073. The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 – 6:30 p.m. and the service will begin at 6:30 p.m. with repass following at W. E. Cherry Cafeteria, 420 Edson Drive.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations go to the Wesley Whiddon Scholarship fund, c/o Robert Worley, OPJH, 1500 Gano Ave, Orange Park, FL 32073.
