Jeanne Georgalides Vaughn, 84, passed away Nov. 18, after a long illness. Algerian-born, convent-raised in coastal French Morocco, she was naturalized an American citizen in Texas after the Allied invasion of North Africa. She lived in Hawaii and California before settling in Jacksonville, Fl. in 1953 with her children. Predeceased by son Ronald Dueser, she is survived by sons Mark E. and Richard L. Vaughn, daughter Shirley A. Johnson, grandson Cain Vaughn, adopted son Ray Cloonan, the Johnson family, and friends. Her daughter eulogized her as a “Loving mother and friend,” adding, “You’re free in heaven—we will miss you, Mamacita.”
