Nancy Finney Holmes (Nan)

Nancy Holmes passed away following a brief illness on Monday, November 7. She was 98.
She was preceded in death by her husband. J. Palmer Holmes, and son, John Palmer Holmes.
She is survived by her daughters Jean Holmes Davis (William) and Nancy Holmes Cagle, her grandchildren Michael Palmer Cagle (Patrick), Sheril Chaffee Whitehouse (Chris), Christian Holmes Cagle and Susan Jean Chaffee. Her great-grandchildren Libby Palmer Whitehouse, David Holmes Foster Whitehouse and Skyler Wynn Cagle.

Nancy was born in Savannah, GA and moved to Jacksonville in her early years. She graduated from Lee High School. In 1938 she married Palmer Holmes. They raised their children in St. Nicholas and later retired in Jacksonville Beach. She was our Mother and Nana. She was an artist, a writer and loved to travel. Her gentle spirit and self-giving was a gift to all in her later years at Taylor Home.

A memorial service in her honor will be held at 11:00am Friday, November 11 at Taylor Home 3937 Spring Park Rd., 32207
