Yolanda Marie Rossi, 91, passed away on October 7, 2011 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born in Wilmington, DE and moved to Jacksonville in 1960. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church for over 50 years and a devout Catholic.
Prior to moving to Jacksonville, Mrs. Rossi was employed by Zappaterrini Italian Bakery which was owned and operated by her beloved brothers, Bennie, Joe & Dave.
Mrs. Rossi was known for her fabulous cooking talent and she loved to prepare wonderful feasts for family & friends. She also enjoyed going to Plays, listening to live band music, playing Bingo, and participating in creative cooking, craft & exercise classes.
Mrs. Rossi was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Joseph James Rossi and her daughter, Dianne Marie Rossi.
She is survived by daughters, Elaine Elizabeth (Olin) Sargent, & Janet Marie (Roger) Roberts; granddaughters, Aimee Elizabeth (Juan) Acosta and Diana Lynn Martin; great-grandchildren, Maxwell Lewis Martin & Mason Joseph Martin; sister, Ann Marie (Alphonso) Crisconi; God-Child & niece, Deborah Ann (Ernest Sr.) Nepa & her children, Jenna Nicole Nepa & Ernest Nepa Jr.; sisters-in-law, Louise Rossi & Tita (Matteo) Cannelongo; and many nieces & nephews.
The family would like to acknowledge Patricia Martin, Janet Muscato, & Lani White for their loving & caring friendships. We would also like to thank Naomi Peacock of Apex Home Health Care & everyone at Atria San Pablo Senior Living for their extraordinary kind & compassionate care of our Mother. The Atria provided a wonderful, caring, fun community environment that made the last two years of our Mother’s life two of her happiest; you have all been such a blessing.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Christ the King Catholic Church. The Rosary will be recited at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00. Friends & family are invited to attend a Reception Luncheon in the Church Fellowship Hall immediately following the Services.
Mrs. Rossi will be interred at the Arlington Memorial Cemetery in a private family ceremony.
