Marion Rota

Marion Rota passed away peacefully on September 25th after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. Born March 7th 1924 in Holyoke, MA to the late Frank & Marion Brown. Preceded in death by husband Al Rota and sister Madelaine Bliss. Survived by sisters Claire Dascanio and Florence Riley, and four children, Sandra Mielnikowski (Bob), Jacksonville, FL, Alan Rota (Melanie), Janice Riley, Pamela Drost. MA. Grandchildren Dana Dodge (Jason), CA., Jason Mielnikowski (Mindy), GA, Ryan Mielnikowski, FL, Shelly Stenta, Maine, Amy Turschman, MA. Great grandchildren Kody, ME, Rory and Nathan Turschman, MA, Sierra Dodge, CA, Simon and Sophia Mielnikowski, GA.

Marion held numerous jobs, always helping her family. She was very outgoing and generous. Loved her family and also music, bowling, cards, and dancing. A memorial service will be held at 9:30am on Saturday, Oct. 1st at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 6320 Bennett Rd., Jacksonville, FL. Father Michael Larkin officiating. Interment will be in Chicopee, MA with her beloved husband, Al.
