Lucy Detels

LUCY MARGARET HITT DETELS, 74, passed away April 27, 2011 in Jacksonville, FL. Born in Washington, D.C. to Moultrie and Jonnie Lee Kelley Hitt, she is survived by brother Peter G. Hitt, sister Betsey Hitt Powell, two nieces, five nephews, five great-nephews, and two great-nieces. She was married to Michael Detels, deceased, with two stepsons and one stepdaughter and maintained a fond friendship with many of the Detels family. She will be cremated and later her remains will be buried at the Moultrie Hitt plot in Augusta, Georgia. Lucy was always so vibrant and approached everything, whether riding horses, rescuing kitty-cats, working in various management roles, enjoying science fiction, or preparing gourmet dishes, with incredible enthusiasm. She will be greatly missed.
