Philip J. DeMarco, recently of Blackshear, Georgia passed away Wednesday April 13th, 2011 at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida from complications due to injuries sustained in a car accident in front of his home on July 29th, 2007.
Mr. DeMarco was a native of Franklin, New Jersey and a long time resident of Jacksonville, Florida and Roswell, Georgia. He was the first child of Ann and Philip Dignardi of Rome, Georgia.
As a very young man he served in the Army at the end of the Vietnam era. Following military service, he entered law enforcement. Once serving as a police officer, private investigator and forensics during his career.
At the time of his catastrophic life altering car accident, he worked as a loss prevention agent with Beall’s for the southeast Georgia region.
Philip, along with his wife Patricia, enjoyed simple living, traveling, art and photography. The DeMarco’s are members of World Harvest Church of God in Waycross, Georgia. Philip Joseph DeMarco will always be remembered for his undying strength and drive for living.
His cousin Scott Mangone and sister in-law JoAnn Marie DeLessio preceded him in death. Philip is survived by his wife Patricia; parents, Ann and Philip Dignardi; brothers: Michael, Mark, and Steven Dignardi; sisters, Cindy Beeman, Dawn Mele and their families; in-laws, Isabel and Phillip DeLessio, Phil Jr. with wife Susan, and their children Daniele, Dana & Jake; Mark DeLessio; Best Man and Best Friend Christopher DeLessio; several loving loyal friends; extended family; and pets: Bandit, Trisha Dee, Archie Bear, Peaches Marie, Jolena Bea, and Chance Man.
A memorial will take place Saturday April 30th, 2011 at World Harvest Church of God, 3205 Memorial Drive, Waycross, Georgia 31501 with Pastor Daniel Rhodes officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family of the deceased through World Harvest Church of God.
