Bernard Clifford McRae, 78, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2011 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born to Earl and Lula (Fields) McRae on March 15, 1932 in Tampa, FL. He honorably served his country in The United States Air Force and later worked as a Drag Line Operator. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed playing his harmonica and was an avid bowler and Tampa Bay Rays fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 siblings; and a grandson. Survivors include 4 children: Cliff McRae, Jr. (wife, Sharon), Cherryl Lewis (husband, Bart), Dawn McRae, and Lori Stirrett (husband, Michael); 1 sister, Pat Wilson; 2 brothers: Robert McRae (wife, Pat) and George McRae (wife, Marian); 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life with honors conferred by the US Air Force will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 14, 2011 in the chapel of the Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring, Community Hospice, 4266 Sunbeam Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32257 (904) 268-5200.
Interment will take place in Jacksonville National Cemetery. Burial services will be private.
