Ted Szymanski

Ted Szymanski passed away peacefully on Jan. 2, 2011. He is survived by his beloved wife Geraldine of 66 years, and daughter Leslie, son-in-law William Arredondo and two grandchildren, Lauren and Phillip.

A native of West Virginia, he moved to New York in the late thirties and joined the Marine Corps at the outbreak of World War II. He served proudly on the USS Bunker Hill in the south Pacific.

Following the war he had a brief career as a heavy weight prize fighter. Afterwards, he owned two lounges in the theater district in NYC for many years.

He built in St. Augustine 30 years ago and loved the area and entertaining his wide circle of friends over the years.

A memorial service will be held on Jan. 22, 2011 at 9 a.m. at the Corpus Christy RC Church located at U.S. 1 South, St. Augustine.
